CHICAGO - On Friday, May 17, second grade students from two classrooms at Melody Elementary School joined the SitStayRead team at KPMG’s offices in the Aon Center for a day of reading, writing, and visiting with Certified Reading Assistance Dogs- all from new heights!

The students had Tail Blazers programming in the Fall and, thanks to the generosity from KPMG, were able to join us for the third year of this fun, one-day event.

The students took school busses to the Aon Center and read books and wrote stories with KPMG volunteers, visited Certified Reading Assistance Dogs, and made thank you cards in the Graphic Design department!

While the students were having fun with volunteers and dogs, more KPMG volunteers helped us pack brand new books that students will receive at their school’s Keep Reading Celebration. All together, over 10,000 books were packed on this day!

Due to the generosity from KPMG’s Family for Literacy program, all SitStayRead students will receive five brand new books to take home this summer! These books are in addition to the Summer Reading Fun Packs given to students at their Keep Reading Celebration by SitStayRead.

KPMG has been a supporter of SitStayRead since 2014 and we are very grateful for their generosity, both in and out of the classroom, over the past five years!
