Book Donation Drive Champions

SitStayRead looks back warmly at our amazing book drive partners, including individuals, small businesses, and organizations, from 2024.

As we near the close of the year, SitStayRead looks back warmly at our amazing book drive partners over the past year. We have been fortunate to work with amazing companies, small local businesses, and their driven, generous, and passionate employees to purchase, pack, and distribute books to children in the communities and schools we proudly serve.

The joy that is sparked by the gift of a good book and the help to foster increased literacy in Chicago youth is priceless.

Our most sincere thanks to our local bookstore partners on at Women and Children First and Pilsen Community Books.

Special thanks also to the incredible people at Crate & Barrel, KPMG, Motorola, and Synergy Creative for their generous donations of not only the funds to purchase books, but their time to join us at Read-A-Palooza 2024, pack book bags for our end of program celebrations, do special guest readings, and continue fostering connections with our local communities.

A person wearing a purple mask and glasses stands in a bookstore, holding up a fan of colorful children's books with both hands. Ten people wearing name badges sit and kneel together outdoors on cushions and rugs, smiling at the camera. Trees and a fence are visible in the background. Several rolls of blue KPMG stickers with the text "It starts with a book and ends with a story" are stacked on a table. A woman in a blue shirt and jeans kneels on the floor, smiling while taping or labeling cardboard boxes in an office setting. Two girls look at colorful children's books displayed on tables outdoors; a man stands nearby and informational booths are set up in the background. An adult and child wearing a helmet look through books on a white bookshelf outdoors, with informational booths and tables set up in the background. Three children's books by Clothilde Ewing are displayed upright on a shelf, each featuring a girl named Stella and colorful illustrations. A gray bookshelf holds children's picture books, some in English and some in Spanish, displayed facing forward and arranged upright on two shelves.
