DOG SAFETY VISITS

SitStayRead Dog Safety Visits bring two Book Buddies, one Dog Team, and a SitStayRead Program Leader into the classroom to teach students how to be safe around dogs. This is a learning service provided for a fee.

During this single, one-hour visit, the Program Leader engages the classroom in a read-aloud and group discussions about interacting with stray and family dogs.

After the discussion students participate in a story writing/drawing activity and engage one-on-one with the Dog Team to practice animal safety.

If you have questions about or would like to book a Dog Safety Visit, please contact us at info@SitStayRead.org.

The love of a dog is a pure thing.

All SitStayRead Certified Reading Assistance Dogs and their volunteer humans are trained for encounters in the classroom environment. SitStayRead recruits dogs with good recall and obedience skills and, of course, all of our Dog Teams enjoy being around children.
