Dog Team Profile
Marc & Peggy!
Marc and Peggy are one of SitStayRead’s beloved dog teams, helping young readers build confidence, comfort, and joy through reading.
Certified Good Boy
Meet Marc
Marc is a handsome 8 year old Golden Retriever from Puerto Rico. He is very sweet and very chill. Not too much bothers him on a day to day basis.
Marc’s Adoption Story
Marc is a rescue from As Good As Gold Rescue, where Peggy volunteered. Peggy fostered Marc in 2020 and had trouble getting him adopted. So that fall, Peggy formally adopted hm and has been blessed ever since he arrived!
Marc’s Personality
Like every SitStayRead reading dog, Marc has a personality all his own. From his favorite activities to his quirky dislikes, these little details are what make him such a memorable companion for the students he meets.
Marc’s Favorite Things
Marc loves his walks and to eat. He’s always checking to see if there is food in his bowl.
Marc’s Least Favorite Things
Storms! And fireworks! He gets very anxious, shakes and walks around to find a safe spot. It upsets Peggy to see him like this, and she finds it difficult to comfort him.
Marc’s Perfect Day
A morning walk after breakfast on a sunny day to take in all the wonderful smells. Then he comes home and cuddles on the couch with mom (Peggy) so he can have all her attention, being pet endlessly.
Marc’s Nicknames
Marky Mac is mom’s favorite nickname for Marc!

How Peggy Found SitStayRead
Peggy can’t remember the first time she heard about SitStayRead. But when she adopted Marc, the kind and gentle Golden Retriever, she knew he would be perfect for the job! Now, he loves sitting with young readers and hearing all the books they will read him while they scratch his ear.
