Jayla Lewis

Program Lead

A person with short curly hair and glasses looks at the camera. They are wearing a light blue shirt and beaded necklaces, with a blurred outdoor background behind them.

Jayla (she/her) began as a SitStayRead volunteer and fell in love with the program. With a background in community-focused work, she has developed a deep passion for playful learning and literacy. Jayla values creating engaging classroom environments where students don’t just feel confident and curious—they’re excited to learn. She believes that literacy is not only foundational to academic success, but also a powerful tool for self-expression and connection. Jayla is especially passionate about building strong relationships with students and volunteers alike. Outside the classroom, she enjoys creative projects, learning new languages, and volunteering in her community.
